Have you ever tried tuna?
After one comes home to find the door open and all the food eaten, two roommates break out into a comedic brawl until only one of them is left standing.

TUNA is my second short film I have filmed. This was intended to be a practice for camera and sound editing, as it was pretty much entirely improvised other than the core concept of it. I am quite proud of how this one turned out as after shooting, I thought it was going to be a mess to edit together. But I made it all link together and quite cohesive with all of the editing. I used some hidden J-cuts to blend some scenes in together to prevent choppy audio and also used the music and extra sound effects to mask it as well, so it all came together quite nicely.

I do regret not planning the film as much as I should have, although it was meant to be improvised. At times we were a bit directionless and had to rush things. Even though I do think I did a decent job blending it together, it could have been much stronger if I planned the scenes and/or shots in advance so the scene could flow a bit more smoothly into one big scene. I do wish the film was a little longer, but after a lot of time constraints and last minute changes, we didn't have time to make any more scenes but what we got worked and I'm happy with the final product. I did originally plan to do some lighting effects which never happened as we didn't have time to wait for it to get dark to make it. I also wish we used better microphones. Originally we planned to use LAV microphones but the ones we had were faulty so we had to resort to a backup Rode microphone attached to the camera, which does have an effect where some pieces of dialogue are a little hard to hear, this is not that big of a deal in the final film as it is not dialogue heavy, but I really want to focus on stronger audio for future projects
